      What is a TSA lock?

During screening TSA agents might need to unlock your luggage for more screening. To avoid delays, these locks were made specifically for TSA agents and only TSA agents have the master key to open these locks. There are many reasons as to why TSA agents might need to open a bag i.e.: faulty x-ray imaging, suitcase is overweigh, or something in the luggage looks suspicious. However, after inspection TSA agents usually leave a "Notice of Baggage Inspection" inside the luggage and relock the luggage before clearing the luggage for travel.

How to reset TSA007 lock after you have forgotten combination

      Solution 1

If you have forgotten your code, the maker of TSA approved locks, Travel Sentry states that you can try every possible combination. This means starting from 000 and working to 999. This method works well, but is tedious.

      Solution 2

Another solution is to visit a local airport and have a TSA agent unlock the baggage for you. Because all TSA agents have a key to the luggage, they usually are willing to help and unlock your luggage for you.
