What's covered, what's not

The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover damage from travel. Here is where the line sits.

Damaged by an airline, cruise line, or carrier?

If your bag was damaged while it was in someone else's hands (an airline, cruise line, FedEx, UPS, or any other carrier), that is a separate situation. We build our luggage to hold up, but what happens to it in transit is outside what we can stand behind.

Report the damage at the carrier's desk before you leave baggage claim. Most carriers require damage to be reported on the spot, so don't wait. Your boarding pass and baggage tag are your best friends here.

Also not covered

  • Normal wear and tear. Scuffs, scratches, and surface marks are part of life on the road. They're not defects.
  • Impact damage. Cracks or tears from drops, hard knocks, or overpacking fall outside what this warranty covers.
  • Wheel wear. Gradual wear from regular use is expected over time and not something we can cover.
  • Unauthorized resellers. This warranty is only valid for bags purchased directly from Traveler's Choice or a certified retailer.
  • Third-party repairs. If someone other than us has opened it up or modified it, we're not able to extend coverage.
  • Transferred ownership. Coverage is tied to the original purchase and doesn't carry over to a new owner.

  • Telescopic handles that won't extend, retract, or lock properly
  • Handles that have come loose or detached entirely
Wheels & wheel assemblyAlignment, attachment, premature failure
  • Wheels that are misaligned or have come loose under normal use
Stitching & seamsPremature unraveling or separation
  • Stitching that has come undone or unraveled ahead of normal wear
Material defectsHard shell & softside fabric
  • Hard shell cracks or tears not caused by impact or misuse
  • Softside fabric that's fraying or deteriorating ahead of normal wear
Interior componentsLining, pockets, dividers, straps
  • Interior lining that's torn or separating ahead of schedule
  • Pockets, dividers, or internal straps that are failing prematurely
LocksTSA-approved locking mechanisms
  • TSA-approved locks that are faulty or won't function as intended
Structural integrityFrame bending or cracking
  • Frame bending or cracking that wasn't caused by misuse or external force
FinishingPaint, coatings, surface defects
  • Paint peeling, discoloration, or surface coatings failing under normal conditions

  • We reserve the right to void coverage in cases of dishonest or fraudulent claims.

  • Review time may exceed 5 to 7 weeks if additional investigation is needed.
